The Merion

AWESOME! The Merion was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. It's excellent and well-informed staff members - especially Denyse and Cliff - work hard to make your event memorable and personal. From our initial meeting, to our tasting, to the event itself, the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable making our experience stress-free. Our guests raved about the space, food, and service. It its truly second to none!

Great venue and totally worth the money. You get so much for the price and its so elegant. My guests were raving about it. Food was great!!!! Sue was incredibly helpful, responsive, and great to work with. I was totally at ease during the whole planning service and wedding because I knew I could rely on Sue. My only complaints are 1.) the maitre D Scott and the banquet manager were a little gruff. They were definitely professional and did a great job but they just seemed also a little high stress which can then stress out the bride. It wasn't a big deal but it was just in such contrast to Sue who was super chill and assured me things would be fine. 2.) there was an error in our final bill and they forgot to charge us $1000. They realized this the morning of the wedding and called me to ask me to bring the money. Again, luckily I was on such a hi so i didn't let it bother me then but in retrospect, that was a little tactless. I feel like they could have either waited to email me after the wedding or maybe call the parents. It all worked out fine and I don't blame Sue for it because I'm sure she was just doing what she was told. But, another bride may not have been so calm getting a call like that the morning of the wedding. Still, I would 100% recommend the merion. Great great venue!

The merion went above and beyond to ensure that everything about our day was perfect. They listened to what we wanted and made sure everything went smothly so that my husband and I didn't have to worry about anything.

Our daughter just had her wedding there and we still have people talking about it being the best wedding ever from the high quality apps to excellent dinner to the delicious desserts. The Merion Does NOT skimp on value and Jim made sure that everything was perfect!!! Worth every penny and comarable in price to many places that only appear to be the same quality. If you are considering this venue just book .It will far exceed your expectations!!!!

Unbelievable! Beautiful! I could go on for days about how amazing the Merion is. If I could, I would tell every bride to book this place asap. The venue could not be more beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous and there is a style of room for everyone. And I MUST mention the food. It was the thing my guests raved about the most! Cocktail hour was out of this world!! There were countless butlered appetizers, along with 6 attended stations. And that's not dinner! For dinner, you must get the potato leek soup! Just amazing! And we can not forget dessert...not just wedding cake, there are dessert stations!! The Merion will make your wedding one of a kind and unforgettable...just as they did for ours. The staff is very attentive and super nice. I only hope that someone I know gets married there so I can enjoy everything from the guest point of view too!!! The staff at the Merion was AMAZING! We worked with Sue and she was great. So helpful and nice. Any questions I had, she responded right away and really was so helpful. The banquet staff on our wedding day was also fantastic. I really couldnt have asked for anything better. The food was also delicious. Our menu consisted of the champaign chicken, the sea bass and the grilled rib-eye. They were all excellent and i couldn't decide what i wanted to eat on my wedding day. I got the sea bass and it was the best sea bass i've ever eaten. we also had so much food at our wedding it was awesome! my husband and i are foodies and i HIGHLY recommend the merion.

Venue: The Merion/Chapel and Empire Ballroom A+++++++ The Merion was amazing. I worked with Stephanie and she was so helpful. Anything I needed done throughout the planning process was taken care of as well as any questions I had. I used the Chapel for my ceremony. We had a Catholic/Jewish ceremony with about 125 people. We were able to accommodate anyone with disabilities since the Chapel had an elevator. There was a Matre D and Captain that helped my then fiance and I stay separated prior to the ceremony and also coordinated everything for us as far as the lineup of bridesmaids and groomsmen and how to walk in and where we should stand during the rehearsal. The cocktail hour, from what I heard, was amazing. I really wished I could have attended but we were taking pictures. All my guests were telling me they thought that was dinner and stuffed themselves. There was a martini bar, Asian food station, groom station with mini cheese steaks, sausage/peppers, boneless wings and an ice sculpture with his football team logo. There was also a mashed potato bar plus over 40 different butlered hors d' ouevre. There was a top shelf open bar for the entire cocktail hour and reception. The reception was held in The Empire Ballroom. It has beautiful crystal balls hanging from the ceiling and the windows surrounding the room change colors. It was very comfortable in there with the amount of people we had. The food was a sit down dinner and guests were able to order from a menu. When you are planning you get a +10 page menu with options to choose from. We chose Oscar chicken (chicken breast with crab imperial), Snapper (fish with a potato crust; a bit spicy but good) and Prime rib (which was as tender as a filet mignon) My husband chose the Surf and Turf since he always eats that and the lobster tail was a very nice size. The food was cooked perfectly and everyone was raving about how well prepared it was. All the servers were so nice and we had a personal attendant who never left our side and always had a fresh cup of whatever we were drinking waiting for us. We even were able to have our dinner boxed up so we could eat later at our hotel. They not only boxed the dinner but also filled two huge boxes of desserts for us. The wedding cake was provided by The Merion and we designed it with Diane. It was a 4 tier cake with butter cream frosting and flowers. The flavors were chocolate/vanilla with a raspberry filling. Tasted very moist and they gave us the top and bottom of it. During the dessert portion of the reception there was a cheesecake bar. That was heaven. There was also a huge chocolate fountain, tons of different pastries, tarts and fruit. There was even a Belgian waffle station. My niece and I went around sampling all the sweets and I think we had a sugar high for hours. It was just amazing.

The Merion was an incredible venue for our wedding! It was all that we dreamed of and more! We still hear compliments from everyone who attended. The cocktail hour is like no other! The reception set up was beautiful! The dinners were all delicious! Desserts lined the room and top shelf drinks were poured all night. One of our guests favorite memories was the pork roll, egg and cheese sandwiches that were at the door at the end of the night. Top of the line service from everyone, especially Stephanie- she was the best wedding coordinator anyone could ask for! She listened to what we wanted, offered suggestions and made our night magical!

Our wedding day at the Merion was perfect! The Merion is beautiful and had so many great spots for our bridal party to take amazing pictures! The cocktail hour and dinner was exceptional! To this day people still remark that my wedding had the best food they ever had! It is a little bit pricey but is well worth it! The Merion staff is very attentive and personable and made my day organized, stress free and FABULOUS! I would highly recommend the Merion to any bride! Good luck!!!

There isn't enough room in this box to explain how incredible the Merion is. From the moment we booked, they treated us like family. They are incredibly professional, kind, and made our wedding day truly unforgettable. Whatsmore, their food is five-star caliber, and quite plentiful. There isn't a guest who neglected to tell us how unbelievable the food and service was. I would be remiss, however, if I didn't attribute the success of the evening to Sue, our wedding coordinator. She made every single detail I dreamed of come to life. She is a wonderful, wonderful, person to work with - and we truly consider her, and the rest of the merion staff, part of our family.

5 Star Reception for the most perfect wedding day! The Merion was phenomenal and far exceeded my expectations. Stephanie, our coordinator there, was such an asset and we are definitely looking forward to booking more events with them in the future!

My wedding was PERFECT, all thanks to the team at The Merion. The food is TO DIE FOR and the service is quick! My parents have been to MANY weddings, and this place was definitely one of the BEST in the NJ/PA area! You can't go wrong with them. The rooms are very elegant ballrooms that it makes you feel like a princess. The whole wedding experience there was so great, I want to do it all over again!

We got married at the Merion on March 26, 2011. The staff, service and food were all wonderful. The Merion caters to your every need so that your wedding day feels very special. Our coordinator, Denyse, was great to work with- very friendly and accommodating. Our family and friends are still talking about what a fantastic time they had at our wedding. The Merion gave me a dream wedding, there is no other way to put it. Every aspect of planning my wedding with the staff here was a dream from the moment we called them. My husband and I were looking for a venue that was different and no one else from our area had gotten married. While The Merion was quite a bit further than we originally planned on going, I am so glad we took that chance. Everyone had told us we would have the moment where we just KNEW we found our hall and 15 halls into our search we were starting to think we were going to have to settle - we were wrong. From the minute we walked in the door, we KNEW this was it. The meeting was perfect - for one thing it was the ONLY hall out of the 15 we went to that actually had food for tasting on the initial visit which meant we actually got to see if we were going to like the food before we gave them a cent. They were a bit out of our budget range and worked with us to ensure we would not have to cut a thing from our wedding and still got the full experience the Merion offers. Everytime we needed to meet with them, it was actually something we looked forward to as it was an excuse to go to the hall. The staff responded IMMEDIATELY to each and every phone call or email, the owners knew us by name, they granted every request we had that strayed from their normal menu and each and every guest felt we were absolutely justified in traveling so far to find this gem. Every aspect of the night was perfect thanks to the people at this venue, I could not say enough good things about them. My husband and I have already let everyone in the family know when we start a family, they should plan on traveling here for a Christening and if we have a girl, the Sweet 16 venue is selected! Thank you thank you thank you Merion for making my wedding dreams come true!

I just had my reception at The Merion, and took pictures. The location was convenient for us because my family is from Pennsylvania, and my husband from New York, so we met half way. All four rooms are a dream!!! We had our cocktail hour upstairs in the room with the glass dome at sunset, and the set up for the food was beautiful, and everything tasted delicious. Densye DiSilvestro was awesome to work with, all the staff made you feel like you were the only bride the were working with. The Chef is great too!!! Gorgeous place for a wedding!

I had both my ceremony and reception at the Merion. We used the Palazzo ballroom for the ceremony, and the Skylight ballroom for the reception. Both my husband and I were extremely happy with everything that the Merion did. As many other reviewers have said, when you have an affair at the Merion, your guests will rave about it for quite sometime. The facility is georgous, and the service was amazing. I have received so many compliments from my guests about how beautiful the wedding was. The food was awesome, and boy was there alot of it. I am hoping that if any more of my friends or relatives get engaged, they will have their wedding there so I can really take time to enjoy it. I am vegetarian and was really pleased with my dinner choice. The cake was very delicous as well. I am still eating it. Cliff and Denyse did an excellent job running things and assisting us. I also used some of their preferred vendors, and was very happy. My wedding was everything I hoped it would be plus more. The best part was watching everyone have so much fun!

Imagine being greeted by valet service and a beautiful water fountain at the entrance of a wedding venue. You walk in and are awed by glistening marble floors, vaulted ceilings, and a impeccable grand staircase. This is the first impression one would get when visiting The Merion. On August 15, 2010, I married my best friend at The Merion in Cinnaminson, NJ. Both our ceremony and reception were convened there and our guests raved aboout the ambiance, delicious food, and overall experience. Cathy Schepis was our event planner, and she made sure that our every need was met in regards to preparation- she was always there for my 101 phone calls before the wedding. :) You won't be displeased if you book your wedding here!
