GREGORIOS BAKE SHOP

I was not impressed with Greggorio's. They were by far the most unprofessional vendor we encountered with the wedding planning process. The new owner (Joe?) has absolutely no business being a business owner. From the very beginning, when we went in for our tasting and information session, he put us on hold (made us wait) so that he could "show his friends his new business". I was annoyed, but we continued. He eventually got "around" to us and gave us the information we needed and gave us a tasting. Well, the tasting really came more from their former head baker, Robert. Robert was a great guy. We were deeply troubled and concerned when we learned a week prior to the wedding that Robert was no longer with the company. I can only assume that Robert got fed up with Joe's bad business practices and took his culinary skills elsewhere. My father-in-law had many bad/stressful situations with them as well. When it came time for him to execute a contract and put a down payment down, he was asked to come back another time because "nobody knows what to do" (was the answer he got after driving up there from Cape May County). There were other situations, but I'll spare you the boring details. One instance when I called them, I wanted to know the dimensions of a half of a sheet cake. Pretty standard, right? WRONG! I had to wait about 15 minutes on the phone while 3 or 4 people ran around like chickens with their head cut off trying to figure out the freaking dimensions of a half of a sheet cake! I couldn't believe it. Oh, and to top it off, THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG SIZE! Ha! I needed these dimensions for the grooms cake. As the groom, I was trying to design a specific cake and needed dimensions. Ok, so now on to the actual wedding cake...NOT WHAT WE ORDERED! We asked for a 3 tier square cake, biggest square on the bottom, middle in the middle and small on top. Complicated, right? Apparently so because what we got was a 3 tier square cake, but the bottom and middle layers were the same freaking size! Oh, and we asked for a collection of sea shells on top of the cake instead of a cake topper. What did we get? Two miniature beach chairs. Hmmm...ya, I see the resemblance. Ha! I will give them this…the cake was delicious and looked very pretty. We got a lot of positive feedback from our guests. We were just totally annoyed with the entire business practice. Bottom line, save yourself the stress and anguish. Go with someone else. We sampled bake works and liked them well enough. I'm wishing now that we had gone with them. Don't bother with Greggorio's. With the way that Joe is running the business, they'll be closed very soon.

Not only did they agree to make my wedding cake for seventy-five people two weeks before the wedding (previous baker had a family emergency), but it was the MOST DELICIOUS cake that I have ever had, and all of the guests said the same. We didn't even save the top layer for our first anniversary. We decided to eat all of it instead.

After tasting the cake at Gregorio's, there was not a doubt in our minds that this is where we were going to get our cake! A cake was offered at our reception venue, however we decided to get our own cake. We talked with Rich and Robert and they were very accomodating! We had a 3 layer cake with the exact flavor combinations we wanted. They matched the flowers perfectly to our wedding colors! The cake was amazing looking! We could not have been happier. Aside from being such a beautiful cake and exactly what we had envisioned, the cake was totally DELICIOUS!! We had so many compliments on how good the cake tasted! Can't wait to have the top on our anniversary next year! Also had a groom's "carrot cake" which was also over the top. Dear Gregorio's We wanted to say thank you for our gorgeous wedding cake! It was absolutely breathtaking and delicious!!!! The staff at Gregorio's went above and beyond for our wedding cupcake cake! That is actually our cake in their picture, blue and green cupcakes. They were willing to work with us with the price and were even able to add 100 (!) more cupcakes to the order a week before the wedding-no problem. I can't tell you how many people complimented us on our cupcakes; we decided to go with 1/2 of them filled with lemon (made with real lemons, of course) and 1/2 filled with whipped cream icing. We were told by several people that they were the best cupcakes that they ever had. They also made the groom's cake for us, which was a Strawberry Shortcake; they made them in our colors and again the cake was delicious! We would recommend them for any other event...or even if you just want a scrumptious bear claw pastry....because theirs are the best!
